IEA Team Rides at Home this Saturday, October 14

The Foxcroft IEA Team is excited to host their home IEA competition this Saturday, October 14, 2023. The competition begins at 10:15am in the Jean DuPont McConnell Stables and Riding Arena with Varsity Open Over Fences and should run throughout the first half of the day with nine classes. The show is open to all at no charge — we hope you’ll come and support your team!

Prestige Training LLC, Sprout Riding, Wulf Crest Stables, and Clairvaux Stables are bringing teams to compete alongside Foxcroft on Saturday. Cheryl Sutherby will serve as the judge, and Emily Merkle will serve as the steward.

Foxcroft IEA Team members include freshmen Sammie M. and Josephine K.; sophomores Anneliese C., Valeska F., Aradeal H., and Maddie K.; junior AnnaMaria C.; and senior Madison B. Student volunteers will be helping with the course and the horses.

Last year, the Foxcroft IEA Team qualified for the Zone 3 Region 3 Finals as a team and with three individual riders. With a small but strong group of eight riders, Foxcroft will be looking to advance the team and several individual riders to the Finals competitions this year.

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) is the largest scholastic riding organization in the country, with more than 13,000 student riders competing on hundreds of teams in 11 zones across North America. Riders are randomly assigned horses, also known as “catch riding,” in flat and over fences classes at several levels and accumulate points at local meets to qualify for Regional, Zone, and National shows.
