Read more >>The Athletic Association and Athletic Department, together with the Parents’ Association (PA), hosted a wonderful Fall Sports Awards ceremony Monday evening celebrating Foxcroft’s teams and accomplishments. Athletic Association senior heads Caroline C., Eva C., and Emma L. and junior assistant heads Patty A., Flora W., Lily M., and Frankie W. emceed the entire evening. After the ceremony, students were treated to tasty desserts organized by the Parents’ Association (PA). -
Tennis and Field Hockey Receive State Rankings!
We are diving into the second month of the 2023 fall sports season, and Foxcroft’s teams are showing no mercy on the courts and fields! Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC) matchups have started, and with Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) state rankings for both Varsity Tennis (#7) and Varsity Field Hockey (#8), the competition has been fierce.Read more >>

Varsity Basketball's Tashae' A. ’25 is Athlete of the Week!
"Tashae' has scored a total of 87 points so far this season," shared Coach Whittney Preston. "She is constantly driving our offense and setting the pace for the team as we make a run into the playoffs. I can always count on her to leave it all on the court and not only create shot opportunities for herself but also for her teammates. After practice, I find her working on her shot and helping her teammates as well."

Fox/Hound Competitions
One of Foxcroft’s oldest and most popular traditions, Fox/Hound, revolves around student-run competitions in field hockey, basketball, and riding but include everyone in the school community as a member of the Fox or the Hound team. -
Think Pink Basketball Tournament
A varsity, JV, and middle school basketball tournament to benefit the Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation, hosted by the Athletic Association -
Clinics
The Athletic Department periodically arranges for coaches, professionals, or former college stars to visit campus to teach skills and strategies for specific sports. -
Athletic Awards Assembly
Each season, athletes are celebrated with a special gathering, sponsored by the Parents’ Association.

Exceptional Proficiency Program
Foxcroft honors our students’ talents by allowing girls who possess special ability to work with a master teacher or trainer to miss some academic obligations in order to pursue that discipline. Although exemptions have been granted to dancers, divers, and other gifted athletes over the years, the program was established for (and is most often used by) talented riders who wish to train and compete in Florida in the winter. Students must apply to the Academic Dean to participate and are held to the highest standards of educational commitment.

External Athletic Credit
On rare occasions, a student with a passion for a sport or activity that Foxcroft does not offer may earn athletic credit for their off-campus endeavor. The activity must meet certain guidelines for training time, supervision, and competition, and be approved by the Athletic Director and Assistant Head of School.
