Irene MD ’26 is Foxcroft’s First Student of the Month!

Irene MD ’26 was announced as Foxcroft’s inaugural Student of the Month during the last Morning Meeting before Thanksgiving Break. Among the criteria for consideration for this award are not only that a student is doing good work in the classroom but is also being a good classmate and demonstrating genuine intellectual curiosity.
Before presenting Irene with her award, Academic Dean Steve McCarty shared some comments from the teachers who nominated her:

“Irene is always engaged in class, asks great questions, and genuinely wants to know how to improve. For her, just finishing an assignment is not enough; she wants to apply new information in meaningful ways.”

“Irene is a dependable presence in class who clearly works diligently on her own time. She has succeeded on her summative assessments in Geometry and asks for extra support when she needs it. Her positive attitude and cheery smile bring joy to our classroom.”

“Irene is an avid tutorial attendee and is proactive about improving her standing in English. Because Irene is typically more reserved during classroom discussions, she does not always receive the 'classroom kudos' and can fly under the radar.”

“In English 2, Irene is always focused and assumes more of a leadership role in group activities. It is amazing that she is able to help out her classmates in a subject that is a second language for her.”

“I don't have Irene in class but she helped out with a video I'm working on and was on time and lovely to work with!”

“She is not only doing her work but is also helping Emmy Queen by practicing the Spanish plays so that Emmy could have a partner in the dialogues.”

“Irene is incredibly studious, but also positive and engaged in class. She keeps her table partners on task!”

Congratulations, Irene!
